Working at night at our national broadcast corporation, I always work in isolation, now. Surrounded by empty chairs. Every hour, telling the headlines for the few who are awake, the nurses and doctors, the police… and every headline contains the same word, the same virus.
After disinfecting the studio, I drive home, on empty highways, to sleep all day, ignoring the sun that tries to get through the curtains. It’s not hard to isolate myself from others, it’s hard to isolate myself from the cold numbers in the news.
